Hotel Blackhawk wins “Smart Meetings” Platinum Choice Award

Trade magazine recognizes properties “setting exemplary standards”

Davenport, IA – Hotel Blackhawk has received a “Smart Meetings” Platinum Choice Award for 2011. The awards, in their eighth year, are presented by “Smart Meetings” magazine, the hospitality industry’s premier resource for meeting professionals.

Results are decided during a two‐month vote by readers with additional input from editors and industry experts. The awards recognize excellence in service and amenities among meeting facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

According to a description, Platinum winners earn recognition by “setting exemplary standards” in categories ranging from ambience, amenities, breadth of resources and facility quality to meeting space, meeting packages, recreational activities, restaurant and dining facilities, staff attitude and technical support.

“Our 2011 winners set the bar high in every way, not the least of which is having staff with a positive, can‐do attitude that allows them to exceed expectations across the board,” said Marin Bright, founder and publisher of “Smart Meetings.”

Hotel Blackhawk celebrated its grand re‐opening January 29th, 2011. The hotel retains its 95‐year‐old historic character while featuring modern conveniences throughout the 130 guestrooms and extended‐stay suites, eight meeting rooms and up to 300‐person banquet capacity in the signature Gold Room.
